This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted portrait of your pet in acrylic paint. Created from your favourite photo and turned into custom artwork, by hand. Whether your good boy has main character energy, judges silently from their favourite resting spot, or simply deserves the spotlight, I will capture their personality (and those ridiculous quirks) in a piece you'll love forever.

Photographers & Nature Enthusiasts - do you have a great picture you would love turned into art? I love painting animals in nature too! As each reference photo and subject are different, and you might want an unusual size, I provide you with a custom quote for this type of art.

How It Works

Send us your favourite photo using these tips:

• Good lighting with minimal extreme shadows (especially if your pet is dark) - shadows are good, extreme shadows are not - please, no backlit images
• Everyone chooses what they think is the best "portrait" but I prefer to work with your pet's personality - the tongue sticking out, the curled lip against their favourite toy, wide eyes catching a treat mid-air. Don't be afraid to show how your pet lived in the moment.
• I reimagine the composition and colours, taking into account what you want included and your decor style. Be mindful that I use bold, unexpected colours and I underpaint all my portraits - meaning that spots of unexpected colour peak through. Please zoom in on all of the examples shown to see if you can spot the underpainting.
• I sketch/paint your pet in a quick, rough thumbnail portrait for you to approve before making the final art.
• You get progress updates along the way, because surprises are for birthdays, not for commemorating your pet.
• Final portraits are shipped ready to frame (meaning without hanging hardware). We recommend using a floating frame without glass. If you prefer us to frame a piece, we will work with you to make that happen!

Turnaround Time & Shipping

Please allow 2-3 weeks from order to delivery. If you need it sooner, message me before ordering so I can see what magic I can work.

We ship our products wrapped in biodegradable plastic shrink-film, with protective corrugated cardboard inside a corrugated cardboard box. We ask that you select a reputable carrier for shipping at checkout - our favourite is UPS. We do not advise using the USPS due to lengthy delivery timelines and lost packages.

Photo Rights

By submitting a reference photo, you confirm it's either your own photo, or you have the thumbs-up from whoever took it. Once your painting is complete, it's yours to love - frame it, gift it, post it - send it on a family Christmas card. The final painting is created as an original artistic interpretation for your personal use.

Here's the fine print that I have to say - I hold onto the creative rights to the original artwork and copies of the original artwork, along with any drafts, files, sketches and digital files. Your purchase includes the physical piece plus full personal-use rights. Likewise, I will not use images of your pet, or your final art, unless I have express permission to share on my website or social media or a licensing agreement for commercial use. Down the road, if you decide to use the art on merchandise, prints, or anything sold commercially, please reach out to us for a simple licensing agreement. It would be great for both of us to celebrate your pet and the art. Just like we respect the photographer who took the photo and ask for permission, I ask for the same respect when it comes to my creative work. Thank you.
