Workshop - Pop Art Pets

In this hands-on, in-person pet portrait painting workshop in Saint John, you'll learn to paint your favourite furry, feathered, or scaly family member in bold, vibrant pop art style. Hosted right here at The Blue Pelican, Saint John City Market! Acrylic on canvas, zero experience required. No art degree, no prior painting experience, no problem.

We're not teaching realism, we're teaching freedom. This is a fun, expressive, and completely beginner-friendly art workshop where you'll create a bold, artistic interpretation of your pawfect pet, not a carbon copy. Think vivid colour, bold strokes, and something that's uniquely, unmistakably yours.

Just upload a photo of your pet and we'll guide you through everything; from sketching your pet's portrait onto canvas to choosing your pop art palette and bringing it to life with acrylic paint. You'll walk away with a piece of art that belongs on your wall, not your fridge.

What's included (all material is supplied):

• 8 x 8 framed canvas
• Acrylic paints, brushes, and all materials
• Step-by-step instruction in a small group setting
• Light refreshments
• One very famous pawfect pet portrait

How to prepare:

• Upload a clear, well-lit photo of your pet on a contrasting background (if you have a black cat, don't photograph them on a black blanket!)
• Bring a sense of adventure and whimsy
• Leave your perfectionism at the door — you're free from that now!
